Breathing and Vibrations

However, despite all of this, REST is much more than a device solely built for dry eye relief. We have designed REST from the ground up to be the most holistic rest (hence the name) experience possible. During your sessions, you may feel gentle vibrations from the device. These (optional) vibrations are designed to synchronize with the device’s heating and cooling cycles, providing gentle cues for you to help guide your breathing. There is a tremendous body of literature showing just how relaxing (and even sleep promoting 1) slow, paced breathing can be 2-4. By matching your breathing to the multi-sensory prompts of REST, you can experience a whole-body relaxation effect, lowering stress, increasing pleasant feelings, and even helping you get to sleep 2-4.
