At-home thermal treatment options are known to have poor compliance 1. According to the Dry Eye Workshop (DEWS II Report, 2017), compliance of warm compresses after 6 weeks drops to 55% 2. Another issue for compliance is people who do not have ready access to a microwave or who travel for work, making a microwavable compress not feasible. Precise temperature control is also difficult to achieve through a warm towel or microwavable compress 1.
